Basic Course

Officers go through five realistic judgmental use-of-force scenarios chosen to reflect the officer's duties and performance level. AFT's instructor will orally debrief the officer and then critique the officer's performance after each scenario.

Tactical and Legal Aspects Course

Officers complete the Basic Course, then complete a self-paced comprehensive computerized training program on the legal aspects of the use of deadly force. Officers will have 90 minutes to read case law and legal commentaries, take a test on the use of deadly force, and evaluate up to 100 short scenarios to determine whether deadly force was justified in any given situation. (Oklahoma CLEET Certified)

Post-Basic Use of Force Course

A unique classroom component, this course is actually taught by the simulator. It incorporates PowerPoint presentations, video scenarios, and on-screen questions to convey teaching points and test officers' knowledge of Physiological Response Dynamics, Psychological Response to Life-Threatening Encounters, Use of Force Matrix and Less-Lethal Force Options available within the agency, Agency Policies on Use of Force, and Legal Aspects Regarding Use of Force. Officers control the pace of learning and answer test questions by using wireless remote controls, similar to TV remotes, then go through individual scenario-based firearms and less-lethal force training. Meets Florida's Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission standards for use-of-force training required to maintain officers certifications.

Active Shooter Response Course

Officers go through five realistic judgmental shooting scenarios involving response to active shooters or terrorists at schools and in other situations, in which they become part of a hastily assembled tactical response team comprised of officers from various agencies who are first to arrive at the scene. AFT's instructor will orally debrief and critique each officer's performance after each scenario.

9/11 Air Counterterrorism Course

Officers go through five realistic judgmental use-of-force scenarios involving incidents which might occur while the officer is flying armed on a commercial aircraft. AFT's instructor will orally debrief the officer then critique the officer's performance after each scenario.

Homeland Security Course

Officers go through five realistic judgmental use-of-force scenarios involving response to domestic and foreign terrorists and suicide bombers. AFT's instructor will orally debrief the officer then critique the officer's performance after each scenario.

SWAT Course

Officers go through five realistic judgmental use-of-force scenarios involving hostage rescue, air insertions, and serving high-risk warrants. AFT's instructor will orally debrief the officer then critique the officer's performance after each scenario.

Corrections Officer Course

Officers go through five realistic judgmental use-of-force scenarios involving facility and transport security. AFT's instructor will orally debrief the officer then critique the officer's performance after each scenario.

Officers go through five realistic judgmental use-of-force scenarios involving facility and employee protection. AFT's instructor will orally debrief the officer then critique the officer's performance after each scenario.
